“Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.” -Lao Tzu

WELCOME

The heart of therapy is the development of a relationship that allows us to explore, process and heal. Often, people come to therapy seeking some kind of change in their lives whether it is within their internal processes, behavior or relationships. Identifying challenges, sharing them, and engaging in the process of transformation may feel like a relief or a burden. Having an honest, supportive therapist on this journey can help guide, build insight and support a change process that is fulfilling and full of opportunity.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience working with young people, families and individuals. I believe in the importance of rugged acceptance exactly how we are and the potential to become even greater. We cannot minimize the impact of stress, grief, discrimination, trauma and violence in shaping us. Our mental health is a result of our experience in the world. This includes our genetics, caregivers, upbringing, environment, development and the protective or destructive factors we have learned along the way. Therapy is often a process of learning and unlearning many of these influences so that we can better engage with ourselves and others.
